Marking four decades since the release of U2’s iconic single “Gloria,” this limited edition vinyl is a true collector’s treasure. Originally launched in October 1981 as the second single from their sophomore album, October, “Gloria” has continued to resonate in U2’s live performances over the years.
This exclusive 4-track EP showcases the studio version of “Gloria” alongside three exhilarating live renditions from different eras. Included is a memorable performance from the Point Depot in Dublin, which took place on January 1, 1990, after a midnight countdown. This concert was notably broadcast across Europe, making it a historic moment for fans.
Additionally, the vinyl features two previously unreleased live tracks: one recorded during the Vertigo Tour in 2005 at the Fleet Center in Boston and another captured during their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour in 2015 at London’s O2 Arena.
Pressed on high-quality 180-gram transparent yellow vinyl, this release is beautifully packaged in a full-color gatefold sleeve with a glossy finish, showcasing stunning portraits of the band. A large folded poster (600mm x 600mm) featuring a montage of photos from various live performances across the decades is also included. With only 7,000 copies available in the U.S., this is a must-have for any serious U2 vinyl collector.
