Dutch-Belgian duo Gare du Nord launched their musical journey in early 2001, commissioned by a French promoter to create the soundtrack for a stylish event in Brussels called ‘Excellence’. Instead of merely focusing on moody sounds, producers Doc (Ferdi Lancee) and Inca (Barend Fransen) crafted a compelling song cycle that blends traditional delta blues with urban jazz, culminating in their debut album, In Search of Excellounge.
Released in June 2001, this captivating album quickly earned gold status and features the standout track, ‘Pablo’s Blues’, showcasing Lancee’s dobro riffs alongside the legendary voice of Robert Johnson. Now, celebrate its 20th anniversary with this limited edition colored vinyl, available in a stunning crystal clear and turquoise mix, with only 1000 individually numbered copies produced.
