Billy Bragg is back with his tenth studio album, A Million Things That Never Happened, showcasing 12 soulful country rock tracks. This album marks a significant moment as the first pandemic blues album of our time, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit. Produced by Romeo Stodart and Dave Izumi at Echo Zoo studio in Eastbourne, every song is penned by Bragg, except for the touching final track, Ten Mysterious Photos That Can’t Be Explained, co-written with his son, Jack Valero.
In discussing the lead single I Will Be Your Shield, Bragg reflects, “This is the heart and soul of the album. Empathy is the currency of music, and our role as songwriters is to help people process their feelings.” After everything we’ve experienced, the notion of being a shield—physically, emotionally, and psychologically—resonates deeply.
